Northeast Texas Girl Scouts Put on Engineering Caps for Cookie Box Creations

The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas will be sharpening their engineering and architect skills at the annual Cookie Box Creations design contest Sunday March 1 at the Galleria Dallas from 8 a.m. until noon.

Approximately 100 Girl Scouts from DFW will work with women architects and engineers from 15 local firms to create free-standing structures using empty Girl Scout cookie boxes.

This year's theme incorporates ecosystems and will feature 10 different structures including jungles, grasslands and the tropics.

Designs will be judged by local community leaders and evaluated based on technical difficulty, creativity in design, engineering difficulty and best use of colors and materials.

The exhibit will be on display in the Galleria Dallas mall through March 22.
