North Texas High School Football Coach Arrested: Police

A North Texas high school coach was arrested Friday morning.

Tarrant County Sheriff's deputies arrested Cedar Hill High School football coach Joe McGuire for driving while intoxicated.

McGuire was booked into the Tarrant County Jail, where he remains on a $500 bond.

Cedar Hill ISD released the following statement late Friday afternoon:

Cedar Hill ISD Head Football Coach Joey McGuire was arrested in Tarrant County early Friday morning, April 10, 2015 for an alleged Driving While Intoxicated incident.

Coach McGuire voluntarily reported the incident to CHISD Administration as soon as he was able to do so. We are still in the process of gathering information and will handle any discipline internally and take appropriate action.

Coach McGuire is aware of the impact this will have on the CHISD Community, Cedar Hill High School and the football team he coaches.

He will be addressing this matter internally within the football program and we ask that you respect his request for privacy during this time.

According to the school's website, McGuire guided the Cedar Hill High School Longhorns to their second straight Class 6A football championship last December.
