Arlington police shut down Interstate 30 near Eastchase Parkway around 7 p.m. Saturday night due to a loose bull on the roadway.
Investigators believe the bull got loose in Fort Worth, then managed to come into Arlington via the highway.
Animal Control employees and police officers attempted to re-capture the bull using non-leathal measures, including a tranquilizer.
However, before animal services was able to fire the tranquilizer, the bull charged at an officer, animal service employees, and citizens in the area. The officer was forced to put the bull down.
Traffic on I-30 was snarled for miles, with only one lane open to pass by the scene.
