New Tornado Resource Center Opening in Garland

TRACE Program Still Helping Victims

The Transitional Resource Accessibility and Community Engagement program continues to help victims from the December 26, 2015 tornadoes.

In a few weeks, TRACE will open a new resource center in Garland. TRACE, was established to connect victims with resources and obtain basic necessities.

"There are people who haven't been helped yet. They haven't even started yet," said TRACE co-founder Bethany Craig. "We have big plans."

TRACE member, Kat Kreiss, helped the non-profit group obtain a warehouse to store donations and operate the new resource center. The warehouse, located on the 1100 block of South Glenbrook Drive, will be run by volunteers.

"We want to fill it up and send out as many items as we can because there are so many people still hurting in the community," said Craig. "We're still in need of more donations like furniture, appliances, small kitchen electrics, household goods, decor, construction and landscaping materials."

TRACE Program has partnered with Heart Homes for a fund raising event in July.

"Out of the Darkness Charity Ball" will take place on July 30th at the Westin Hotel in downtown Dallas. Proceeds will benefit both non-profit groups.
