New QuikTrip Kitchens Menu Rolling Out

Those looking for a place to eat might not immediately think of a gas station.

The folks at QuikTrip hope to change that mindset and entice more people to try their fresh, ready-to-order food.

"We do pizza," QuikTrip corporate chef Nick Powell said. "We got flatbreads. We have kolaches."

Powell is the one who created everything on the new QuikTrip Kitchen menu. He said they are trying to change people’s mind when it comes to getting food at their locations.

"People have conceptions about what they consider gas station food and we want to change that perception," said Powell. “We have put a lot of work into using the best quality ingredients possible and putting out the best quality food possible, so we can overcome that hurdle."

QuikTrip debuted their first QuikTrip Kitchen a year ago, and are now in 115 stores in DFW. They will be in all of the QuikTrips in DFW by April.

“The beauty of this it is fresh, made-to-order food,” said QuikTrip division manager Bob Climeson. “It’s a new evolving offer for us.”

The newest item on the menu is the breakfast pizza. It contains eggs, sausage, cheese, and gravy.

Powell says he has a favorite on the menu.

“I am really partial to the cinnamon sugar pretzel icing, but we sell a lot of pizza,” said Powell. “Pizza is really good."

QuikTrip will begin the process of adding QuikTrip Kitchens in most of their 700 plus stores in the United States very soon.
