Police are seeking four thieves who robbed a wholesale jeweler of about $850,000 worth of precious gems as he arrived at a store in the Dallas area.

Richardson police say the attack was captured on surveillance video.

Sgt. Kevin Perlich says a wholesale jeweler from San Francisco was jumped by three men after arriving at the back alley of the store late Wednesday afternoon. The thieves took a small suitcase containing the jewelry, then fled in a vehicle driven by the fourth suspect.

Police say the jeweler was not hurt. Further details on the victim were not immediately available.

Perlich says the suspects wore hooded sweat shirts and at least one had a knife.
