Murder-Suicide in Grand Prairie, Arlington: Police

Two North Texas police departments are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

Arlington police contacted Grand Prairie police about a suicide that happened in Arlington on Monday.

Officers discovered that a man, identified as 29-year-old Ivan Arellano, confessed to someone that he killed a woman in Grand Prairie before committing suicide.

At about 9:30 Tuesday morning, Grand Prairie officers found the body of a female in a heavily wooded area near the 2400 block of Pioneer Parkway.

She has been identified as 17-year-old Desiree Morris.

Morris' cause of death has not been determined.

Arellano is the only person of interest in the case at this time, according to police.

Morris' family said there will be a memorial at Baumgardner Funeral Home on April 15 at 2 p.m.
