Two Fires in Lancaster Tax Fire Crews

Firefighters from multiple departments battled two fires, just miles apart, in Lancaster Wednesday morning.

Two security guards had been inside of a the Romark Logistics Warehouse on the 2200-block of Danieldale, when a fire started at 1:42 a.m.  Both workers escaped from the fire without injury and called for help.

Lancaster firefighters and crews from all over the area responded.  It could have been a massive fire with flammable fiberglass insulation going up in flames.

As crews worked to get the warehouse fire under control, a house fire started at 3:11 a.m. in the 900-block of Oakbluff Drive.  A driver passing by saw the flames shooting from the roof of the vacant home.  Lancaster firefighters were tied up at the warehouse fire, so Dallas Fire Rescue responded and put out the house fire.

β€œIt’s been a busy evening.  We had two major structure fires, however we had crews that responded.  We were able to contain both fires without injuries, and our mutual aid has been very beneficial to us,” said Lancaster city manager, Opal Mauldin-Robertson.

The Lancaster Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of both fires.
