Police: At least 12 vehicles, 20 people involved in crash

It happened in the eastbound lanes of state Highway 121 near Maxine Street just before 5 p.m. Friday, at the height of rush hour.

Officers said at least 12 vehicles are involved, with 20 patients on the scene. Five of them have been transported to the hospital.

The crashes cleared about 5:30 p.m. Friday, and Highway 121 has reopened.

The cause of the crashes are under investigation.
