Mother Arrested, Accused of Stabbing 3-Year-Old Son

Woman held on $500,000 bond after telling police she stabbed her son

A woman from Fort Worth is being held in jail on $500,000 bond after being accused of stabbing her 3-year-old son.

According to Fort Worth police, 33-year-old Nadia Douglas stabbed the boy Saturday in his back and stomach before calling police at about 8 p.m.

Officers arrived at the woman's residence at the Spring Garden Apartments and found the woman alone with her child, who was bleeding heavily.

The boy was transported to Cook Children's Medical Center in critical condition where, as of Monday, he was still receiving treatment.

According to police, before she was arrested Douglas told officers at the scene that she stabbed the boy. Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit later met with the woman and said an injury to a child/serious bodily injury case will be filed with the Tarrant County District Attorney's office.

At this time, police have revealed no motive for the attack.

Douglas is currently being held in the Mansfield Jail.
