Mom Drives With No Hands Before Fatal, Wrong-Way Crash: Police

Burton held on $200,000 bond

Police say a North Texas woman accused of causing a fatal wreck while going the wrong way on Interstate 35 had been driving with her hands behind her head.

Brittany Dawn Burton of Arlington was jailed Tuesday on charges of intoxication manslaughter and child endangerment. Fort Worth police say Burton's 6-month-old daughter was along in the SUV, but wasn't hurt.

Bond is $200,000 for Burton. Mansfield City Jail records did not list an attorney for her.

A police report said an officer saw Burton, with her hands behind her head, driving the wrong way late Friday and chased her SUV.

Two vehicles trying to avoid Burton's SUV were in a wreck. The two drivers got out and one was struck and killed by another vehicle. His name wasn't immediately released.
