McKinney is the “Best Place to Live” According to Money Magazine

McKinney is officially the best place to live in the United States of America, according to Money Magazine.

Money Magazine ranked McKinney No. 1 among cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000 thanks to data like housing, affordability, education, health care, safety, culture and the arts.

Money's writers visited McKinney to interview residents and city leaders in making the list.

"Underlying McKinney’s homey Southern charm is a thoroughly modern city. The area is a hotbed for growth-industry jobs," the magazine wrote.

Collin County city has been steady moving up the magazine's list since debuting at No. 14 in 2008. McKinney moved to No. 5 in 2010 and No. 2 in 2012.

Needless to say, McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller is thrilled with the list.

"We have always believed McKinney is among the very best places to live in the country – if not THE best. It is incredibly rare for a city to consistently rank in the top 15 on this list... we thank Money Magazine for the recognition." Loughmiller said in a news release.

McKinney also has been among the fastest-growing cities in the country since 2000.
