Mayor's Back to School Fair for DISD Students

Avoid long lines to this free event by pre-registering

Families wait in the pre-dawn hours for free school supplies in 2011.

Details are now available for the Dallas Independent School District's 16th annual Mayor's Back to School Fair.

This year, the fair will be held Aug. 2 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Automobile and Centennial Buildings at Fair Park.

At the fair, free school supplies will be made available to families with school-aged children who meet eligibility requirements and also live in the city of Dallas and attend a DISD school.

Eligible families can avoid long lines by pre-registering for the fair by mail (which must be done by July 13) or at a pre-registration event (which run through July 28) .

Get more details on pre-registration and eligbility requirements here.

The fair is free and open to the public.
