Mark Cuban Wants You to Play Hooky on Friday

Cubes wants you to devote your Friday to preparing for the Mavs' Game 3 matchup with the Rockets

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wants you to leave work early on Friday, and you don’t even have to duck out of the office to do so. Instead, you can just present your boss with an excuse letter written by the Shark himself.

The Mavericks’ Game 3 matchup with the Houston Rockets, the first game at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, is set for an early, 6 PM tipoff. Even if you left work at 5 PM on the dot and worked right there in Victory Plaza, you’d have hardly any time to prepare, mentally or physically, for the game. And you need that time. This is the playoffs, after all.

So aside from the note, the Mavericks are enacting several initiatives to help you get ready. The Mavs Friday Party in the Park will be held from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM at Klyde Warren Park, complete with nine food trucks, Mavs Dancers, the Street Team and the Drum Line.

After that, Mavs Friday Happy Hour will run from 2-4 PM at various bars and restaurants  in Uptown, Downtown and Victory Park. At 4 PM, as the Happy Hour draws to a close, the doors at the American Airlines Center will open. A shuttle--the FOX Sports Southwest Mavs Express Shuttle, as it were--will be available to take fans from Uptown to the AAC before the game, with trips departing from Routh and McKinney at 4:45, 5:10 and 5:30 PM.

So on Friday, get out of work early. Prepare well. Be Loud. Cubes commands it.
