Marinas Collapse, Boats Damaged on Lake Lewisville

Several boats were damaged on Lake Lewisville after the roof covering several boat slips at two marinas collapsed.

The damaged boats were docked at the Pier 121 Marina, on the Lewisville side of the lake, and at the Hidden Cove Marina on the Frisco/The Colony side of the lake.

From Chopper 5, what appeared to be fuel could be seen on top of the water near the slips.

While an official cause of the failure has not been given, large pieces of heavy ice from Tuesday night's ice storm were still visible on top of the covering and on the dock.

On their Facebook page, Pier 121 Marina said they are closed until further notice due to ice and snow on the docks.

There have been no injuries reported in connection with the collapse.
