Dallas police say a man is in custody after a fatal hit-and-run Sunday morning.
Police said 22-year-old Angel Lopez-Gil struck 55-year-old David Benton while driving southbound in the 7200 block of Skillman Street in Lake Highlands.
Police said the victim was not in the crosswalk when he tried to cross the street.
Lopez-Gil was seen driving around the area after the crash, and ran off after parking his car in the block of 6900 Colfax Drive, according to police.
The body of Benton was found in a parking lot close to the scene of the crash.
Lopez-Gil was found and arrested in the 700 block of Claybrook Drive. He faces a charge of accident involving death and is being held on $100,000 bond.
