Police said they arrested a man and a woman after a drive-by shooting and a chase in Dallas early Wednesday morning.
Dallas police said an officer saw a person firing shots from a vehicle at a 7-Eleven near the intersection of Beckley and Illinois avenues at 1:32 a.m.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but police said the driver fled.
After a brief pursuit, police said the driver crashed in the 300 block of East Brooklyn Avenue. The man driving ran from the vehicle while a passenger was taken into custody.
Police said they captured the man on the grounds of the nearby Dallas Zoo after a large search involving K-9 units and a police helicopter.
The man was transported to a hospital with injuries sustained by the K-9 officer.
