Sandbox, the 5-year-old mare belonging to 5-year-old Kade Berry and his family, was found a week after he was stolen and on Thursday the man who found her was presented with his reward.

Ryan Taylor, 22, found Sandbox wandering the road outside a ranch near Stephenville and returned the mare to the Berry family.

Thursday in true western style, Sandbox and the Berry family were on hand as Taylor was presented with a $9,000 check and $500 gift pack at Billy Bob's Texas.

The reward for a stolen horse was made up of $5,000 from the family, $2,500 from Resistol Hats, $1,000 from Durham Trailer Ranch and $500 from Cowboy Militia, as well as a $500 gift pack from Mountain Horse.

The search for Sandbox took on a life of its own on Facebook.
