Police say a man who called 911 in Southeast Texas to say he just shot a woman has been arrested after she was found dead.

Beaumont police on Wednesday did not immediately release the name of the 39-year-old man, who's facing a murder charge.

Police say the man reported the woman could be found at one location Tuesday night and that he was at a residence at another site. Investigators found the woman dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head.

The man was arrested at the home.

Police did not immediately release further details on the pair's relationship.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
