According to police, a man in a truck approached and told a child to get into his car. The man then stopped, exited his vehicle and yelled at the child to "get into my car, now!"

The child ran away. The man got back in his truck and drove away.

Police described the man as Hispanic and 30 to 40 years old with short black hair. He was wearing a brown jacket and khaki pants.

The man was driving a maroon truck with an unknown Texas license plate. There was a gray decal that looked like "wavy, fire-like lines" on the driver and passenger doors, authorities said.

Rowlett Police Department officials asked anyone who has seen this man or truck to call them at 972-412-6200 and choose the option to speak to the Criminal Investigations Division.
