University of Texas at Arlington police arrested Thursday a 19-year-old man suspected in a series of robberies in which students were approached, asked to use their cell phones and then punched in the face.

Javon Romell Weston, of Mansfield, was arrested at his home after UT Arlington police obtained a warrant identifying him as a suspect in a Nov. 19 robbery. He was being held in the Arlington jail with bail was set at $15,000.

Police said there were five similar robberies and thefts on or near the UT Arlington campus that were reported between Nov. 5 and Nov. 25.

Other suspects are believed to have been involved in the crimes and police are asking anyone with information to call 817-272-3381.
