A man survived a horrific rollover crash in Arlington Friday morning only to be hit and killed by another car moments later.
Investigators said Deandre Walker, 20, was on the ramp to westbound Interstate 20 from southbound state Highway 360 at about midnight when he was involved in a single-car rollover crash.
After his car rolled down a grassy embankment, Walker was able to crawl out of his car and walk back toward the highway. A short time later he was struck and killed by an SUV.
The driver that hit Walker told police he tried to avoid the man, but was unable to do so.
Walker died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV is cooperating in the investigation, police said.
Police said it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol played a factor in either crash.
