Man Strips, Drives Pickup into Southwest Plane in Nebraska

Authorities said a man wearing only boxer shorts stole a pickup truck and drove it into a Southwest Airlines plane at a Nebraska airport.

Eppley Airfield Police Chief Tim Conahan said the man was screaming that people were trying to kill him Thursday evening. When officers approached, the man climbed a fence into the gate area, undressed and stole an airline pickup, which he drove into the plane as passengers for Denver were boarding.

Three people on board the plane sustained minor injuries. The man is in custody. His name hasn't been released.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines spokesman Chris Mainz said Friday that the plane's nose gear tires were flattened, so another plane flew the 113 passengers to Denver, landing three hours later than originally scheduled.
