Dallas police are investigating the stabbing death of a 68-year-old Oak Cliff man.

Police found the man dead inside his home in the 1400 block of South Montreal Avenue at about 9 a.m. Monday.

Dallas police identified the victim as Gerald Canepa.

Neighbors said the retiree was quiet and amicable and was always seen around the yard with his dog.

No one noticed anything out of the ordinary in the last few days, neighbors said.

Police say Canepa died as a result of homicidal violence. There is no suspect information at this time.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Dallas police.
