Man Shot Several Times in Shootout With Police

Following shootout, two men found dead inside mobile home

Two people were dead after a shooting at a mobile home park, and an exchange of gunfire with police left another with serious injuries on Monday night.

The shooting took place at about 9:15 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove area of southeast Dallas.

Officers were initially called to the 700 block of Cliffview for a robbery. When they got there, officers heard gunshots coming from inside one of the mobile homes, police said.

Immediately after the shots were fired, police said 24-year-old Roderick Harris ran out of the mobile home, and after spotting the officers, opened fire.

As Harris ran out of the back door, Officer Justin Bowen shot the man multiple times.

Harris was seriously injured and taken to Baylor Medical Center in police custody.

Inside the mobile home, officers discovered two dead men, brothers Carlos and Alfredo Gallardo, 36 and 45, respectively.

A second person was located outside the mobile home and was taken into custody to be interviewed by criminal investigators.

Detectives are also questioning several witnesses who were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

No police officers were injured during the shootout.
