Arlington police say that it appears a man shot his adult grandson and then himself Sunday afternoon.
Police said Monday that the men were found at about 2 p.m. Sunday on the ground outside of a car along the 4900 block of Eden Road.
Based on witnesses and evidence at the scene, police said David Songer, 74, shot his grandson, 26-year-old Justin Songer before turning the gun on himself.
The elder Songer was found dead at the scene. Justin was first taken to the Medical Center of Arlington and later transported to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth where he died.
Police continue to investigate what led to the shooting.
Justin Songer's death is the 13th homicide in Arlington this year.
