Man Sentenced for Stabbing, Hiding Body Under Bed

A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for fatally stabbing his girlfriend and then stuffing her body underneath his bed.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that authorities said Robert Lyn Myers stabbed Cecelia Lomas Stegall in January 2013 with a steak knife, wrapped her in a blanket and then stuffed her body under his bed.

His 50-year-old girlfriend's body remained there for three days before Myers moved it to a closet in a nearby vacant apartment. An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip alerted police to Stegall's death.

The 41-year-old Myers had claimed self-defense.

He was sentenced on Friday after pleading guilty to murder in exchange for the 33-year prison term.
