Man Robs Two Sonic Restaurants in Arlington, Grand Prairie

Police believe robber may strike again

Arlington and Grand Prairie police are working together to find an armed man who has robbed two fast food restaurants within a few miles of each other.

Grand Prairie police said investigators believe the robber may strike again.

Detective Mark Beseda said the man first robbed the Sonic Drive-In at 2200 block of Southeast Green Oaks Boulevard in Arlington on March 13.

"The suspect enters the store through an employee entrance, displays a silver handgun and demands money from the employees," he said. "He's been able to get the money and flees the scene before officers arrive."

Beseda said investigators believe the man also robbed a Sonic Drive-In in the 4000 block of South Great Southwest Parkway in Grand Prairie on March 27.

Beseda said he believes the robber, who targeted the restaurants while they were closing between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., works alone.

"We had some witnesses describe him possibly driving a vehicle as a silver or gray Nissan Altima or Sentra," he said.

Anyone with information should call 911, he said.
