A man is found dead after an early morning fire in Dallas.

Dallas firefighters find the body of a man while battling a one-alarm fire in south Dallas early Sunday morning.

Arriving at the 600 block of North Boulevard Terrace, firefighters said the home was fully engulfed in flames and smoke. They were quickly able to the fire at the one-story wood frame home under control, but while doing so they discovered an unresponsive man inside the residence.

Dallas Fire Rescue pulled the man out onto the porch, where they determined he had died.

Officials said the home appeared to be vacant, other than the chair the man was sitting in was among only a few pieces of furniture inside.

DFR is investigating the cause of the fire as well as the man's cause of death.
