A man was found shot to death, lying on the sidewalk in a Dallas neighborhood Monday morning.

It happened on the 3800-block of Mount Ranier Street in Oak Cliff at about 12:05 a.m.

Neighbors heard gunshots just after midnight. There was a 15 minute delay after the shots until someone actually discovered the man on the sidewalk, according to officials.

Police say the victim is in his 30s and was shot several times. Crime scene detectives found shell casings scattered on the street. Investigators tell NBC 5 that they don’t know if the shooter was in a car because no one saw a get-away vehicle.

Authorities have been going door to door talking with neighbors for more information. At this point, people report hearing gunfire, but did not see the shooting.

The medical examiner is working to identify the victim.

Homicide detectives are searching for the shooter.
