Man Found Dead in Big-Rig Identified

Man's body found during traffic stop

The man whose body was found in a big-rig during a traffic stop has been identified.

The body of 46-year-old James Lynn, was found Monday after a Dallas police officer pulled over the driver of a big-rig due to smoking wheels that appeared to be locking up.

“He noticed the brakes appeared to be locking up on the 18 wheeler. He pulled it over, just basically to make sure the driver was OK and knew he was having brake problems,” said Sgt. Benny Handley, with the Dallas Police Department.

During the stop, the officer asked the driver, Roderick Jordan, if he was alone.  He said he was and then consented to a search.

During the search, Lynn's body was found in the cab, on the floor between the seats.

Jordan was initially detained and questioned before eventually being arrested and charged with the man's murder.

Investigators have not yet revealed a motive and the investigation is ongoing.

Early in the investigation, authorities were trying to determine who owned the truck.  Police said Thursday that Jordan was the owner/operator of the big-rig.
