A 27-year-old man, Christopher Logan, drowned Wednesday while diving for golf balls at the Las Colinas Country Club, DallasNews.com reports.

Employees of the club noticed Logan, who had been contracted to retrieve balls from the pond, hadn't returned by closing time.  They later found his empty cart next to one of the ponds.  His breathing apparatus was found floating on the pond, and that the pump supplying air was not running.

The club called the police, who swept the lake and recovered the Logan's body.

It is not known if the man was free diving or if he was wearing scuba gear.

Officials with the club said the depth of the pond was only about 5 feet.

OSHA is investigating the death.
