Man Charged in Robberies, Assaults at Houston Apartments

Police say DNA evidence has led to charges against a man suspected of attacks at eight Houston apartment complexes since April.

Harris County jail records show 27-year-old Lemann Brown was being held Thursday on aggravated sexual assault and robbery charges.

Police believe Brown carried out 10 robberies, including six sexual assaults and three attempted sexual assaults. In most cases a man with a gun approached a female in a parking lot, then sexually assaulted and robbed her.

Brown was arrested last month. DNA evidence from one case was linked to others. He's also charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon.

Online jail records don't list an attorney to speak for Brown. His bond was $100,000 for one robbery charge, but he's held without bond on other counts.
