Authorities say a man has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing last month of 43-year-old man in in Rockport, located along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Rockport police Cmdr. Jerry Lawing told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times on Monday that 27-year-old Joseph Degrange Jr. was arrested July 13 at his home. Degrange has been charged in the death of Lanny Beckham of Meridian, Mississippi.
Beckham was found June 11 with multiple stab wounds in an overflow parking area near a Rockport boat ramp.
The newspaper reports that Lawing did not describe how investigators tied Degrange to the slaying.
Degrange remained in Aransas County jail on Tuesday on $850,000 bond. Jail records didn't list an attorney for him.
Rockport is about 30 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.
