Man Arrested After Arlington Shooting, Police Pursuit: PD

A man is in police custody and another man is recovering after a shooting that led to a police pursuit from Arlington to Euless Monday evening, officials say.

Arlington police said they responded to a domestic situation in the 2200 block of North Collins Street, near a Whataburger restaurant, where a man had allegedly been following his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

Gunshots were fired, and the woman's new boyfriend was wounded, police said.

Medics transported him to a North Texas hospital in unknown condition.

Police attempted to stop the man suspected in the shooting, but they said he fled in a vehicle north toward Euless, where he was eventually arrested near Bear Creek Parkway and Duckett Drive.

The man has been identified as Reuben James Rivera, and he faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.

Police said they are investigating multiple crashes along the pursuit route caused by the man's erratic driving.
