Police arrested a 26-year-old man who they said stabbed a man, threatened a woman with a screwdriver and led officers on a chase in Dallas Monday evening.
Dallas police said a 22-year-old man was stabbed in the chest in the 100 block of South Lamar Street at about 5 p.m. The attacker ran from the scene before officers arrived, but police said they put out a description of him on the police radio.
A short time later, Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police officers saw a man who matched the description going into a building in the 2500 block of Elm Street. Police said the man threatened a woman with a screwdriver and demanded property.
Police said the victim did not give the man her property. She was not injured.
The attacker then left the building. Police said they spotted him in the 2700 block of Gaston Avenue.
After a brief foot chase, police said they used a stun gun to subdue the man.
Police said they took the man — later identified as Juamon Andrews— into custody and charged him with aggravated assault, aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
