Man Accused of Paying High School Girls for Sex Found Guilty

A 63-year-old Southeast Texas man has been found guilty of sexual assault of a child in a case involving thousands of dollars paid to high school girls for sex.

A Galveston County jury returned the verdict Tuesday against Michael McIntosh of Friendswood.
After the trial's punishment phase concluded later Tuesday, the jury recommended a sentence of 10 years of probation. A judge, who could still give jail time, will formally sentence McIntosh on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say he paid thousands to multiple girls who attend two area high schools. They say he was known to frequent restaurants and solicit waitresses.

A teenager testified during the trial that she knew McIntosh by the nickname "Money Mike."

Defense attorneys had argued McIntosh should be found not guilty because of conflicting witness testimony.
