Police said a 72-year-old man shot his stepdaughter's husband at a Rowlett house Sunday night.
Rowlett police said they responded to a family disturbance call at a home in the 8000 block of Wayne Way at about 9:40 p.m. after a woman called saying her husband had been shot by her stepfather.
Officers said Malcolm Paisley shot his 43-year-old stepson-in-law, Scott Dickerson, in the torso once.
Dickerson was transported to a hospital where he underwent surgery. Police said they expect him to survive.
Paisley is in the Rowlett City Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
