Anyone who was close to Lakeside Parkway and Texas State 121 in Flower Mound spent time in traffic Friday.
Farm-to-Market Road 2499 between Grapevine and Flower Mound remains closed to traffic in both directions from Lakeside Parkway to Grapevine Mills Boulevard due to high water in Denton Creek.
Flower Mound Police officers were stationed at road blocks to control access to apartments located inside the closed area.
While it is not raining, there is still flooding.
Drivers were forced to be patient or get off the road, like Sidney Court of Flower Mound. Her car overheated.
“Basically, I didn’t want to be stuck, “ said Court.
Other drivers wish they found an alternate route.

“It is frustrating watching the cars on the highway and I am just sitting here, wondering if I made the wrong decision,” said Tristan Lorenzo of Lewisville.
The Texas Department of Transportation suggested the following detour: Business 121 to FM 3040 to reach Flower Mound and points in between.
