One person died in a fiery truck accident on I-35W Tuesday afternoon. The accident occured on I-35W just before the Risinger Rd. exit.

Fort Worth police say a commercial utility truck carrying flammable liquids collided into the back of a pickup truck.

According to a statement, a Fort Worth police officer quickly learned of the accident and witnessed a person was trapped inside the mangled truck. A series of explosions forced the officer away from the wreck.

One fatality is confirmed, though police and fire officials say it's currently undetermined if anyone else was inside the pickup.

Investigators are continuing to work on the case to see if other vehicles or victims were involved.

Police shut down I-35W Tuesday afternoon to investigate and clean up the accident. Traffic was delayed during rush hour.
