Lodge Ladies Pose, Cancer Research Benefits

Magazine signings raise money for Komen Foundation

Sharpies at the ready? Check. Autograph material displayed? Check. Magazine models poised to sign their respective pages? Whoa, oh check yeah.

Thursday night at The Lodge wasn’t so much about prurient interest and knockout women signing copies of magazines in which they’d posed sans and semi-sans clothing. OK, yes it was.

But it also served as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation in its efforts to back breast cancer cure and prevention research.

Two employees of The Lodge — door hostess Angela Ryan and entertainer Paige Lowry — grace the pages of current and recent editions of Easyriders and three special editions of Playboy magazines, respectively, and the duo Thursday autographed free copies of the publications for fans definitely in favor of saving the ta-tas.

The Lodge bought hundreds of copies of the magazines, gave them away to customers, opened a free snacks buffet, and turned it all into the fundraiser by collecting donations from admirers — and there were admirers lined up — and good for them.

Man, covering these fundraisers can be hard work, but I’m willing to take one for the team. You’re welcome.
