While many North Texans gets ready for their Thanksgiving feast, some high school students from Little Elm will be performing in one of the biggest moments of their lives.
Five students in the Little Elm High School band were selected to be in the Macy's Great American Marching Band.
They'll perform in the 90th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which can be seen Thursday, Nov. 24, on NBC 5 starting at 8 a.m.
Thousands of students nationwide auditioned for the band, but just 250 made it.
"I was so ecstatic. I couldn't be happier," said saxophonist Trevor Jackson.
The students found out they were selected in May. Some saved their money over the summer to pay for the trip to New York.
Trumpet player Jared Miller was also chosen to be in the band last year.

"It was a little bit nerve-racking because you're in front of three million people – I think they said – live last year, because the weather was so nice. And then you had 60 million people on TV, and just knowing there's so many people watching you is nerve-racking. You get used to it, though, because you're just kind of accustomed to the speed of everything," Miller said.
Kolby Turner, Nicholas Olivares and Reed Hull will also participate in the parade. They play the trombone, french horn and trumpet, respectively.
The crew will leave on Friday.
Starting Monday, they will spend six to eight hours a day practicing the song they'll play in the parade.
More than 10,000 people are participating in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
