Lightning Strike Likely Cause of Fire in North Richland Hills

A lightning strike is the likely cause of a large house fire in North Richland Hills Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The fire started in a home in the 8000 block of Oak Knoll Drive at about 8:30 a.m. It was quickly upgraded to a 2-alarm blaze.

Members of the North Richland Hills Fire Department responded and were able to put out the flames quickly. 

Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the fire, but said it was likely started by a lightning strike. 

No one was home when the fire started and no injuries were reported.
