Five people were home when lightning struck a Seagoville home and sparked a fire early Tuesday morning, firefighters said. [[310903351,C]]
The Dallas and Mesquite fire departments helped put out the fire at the home in the 3000 block of Briarbrook Drive just after 4 a.m., according to the Seagoville Fire Department chief.
The homeowner and his brother, sister-in-law and parents made it out of the home safely, according to the homeowner's brother.
The top portion of the home was destroyed. [[310903761,C]]
