Learjet Makes Emergency Landing at Alliance

A Learjet 45 with two people on board made an emergency landing at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth Wednesday afternoon.

With a known issue to the nose gear, the plane touched down and briefly skidded to the side before straightening out on the runway.  Neither of the occupants were injured in the landing.

The plane had just departed Meacham Airport and was headed to Austin when the pilot noticed a malfunction with the front landing gear, according to FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford.

Lunsford said the nose gear trouble was verified when the plane made a low pass by the control tower at Alliance Airport and controllers could see the nose gear was not where it should be.

The plane circled far north Fort Worth to burn fuel before making the landing at Alliance.
