The largest multi-lane water slide in the world resides in North Texas, adding fuel to the saying "everything is bigger in Texas." Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has built a two-tiered slide that stands nearly 60-feet high.
Wahoo Racer, the new water slide sends riders through a winding stretch inside colorful tubes that shoots each person into six racing-tracked styled lanes. The riders splash into the water head first on aerodynamic water toboggans. The passengers will dive in the water at speeds up to 40 feet per second.
Time will be tracked during each water course, challenging contestants and motivating them to reach the red flag to make a win.
Steve Martindale, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor president said, “No other water park in North Texas offers this much thrilling variety and we are committed to delivering a bigger, better and wetter experience to guests of all ages."
Wahoo Racer is one of the many additions that will be included in Hurricane Harbor's multiyear enhancement project.
The park added a new retail location, season pass processing area and remodeled restrooms.
The brand-new water slide will open on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26. Hurricane Harbor will open a few weeks before, on May 10.
