A large grass fire has been extinguished in Frisco, but not before it burned much of an open field Monday evening.
A crew had been cutting hay in the field when one of the pieces of equipment is believed to have sparked a fire in the grass near state Highway 121 and Coit Road.
Nobody was hurt in the fire, but witnesses said the fire was roughly the size of a football field and was emitting intense heat on an already hot day.
Frisco police closed Coit Road between SH 121 and Lebanon Road while emergency crews worked at the scene.
