The Krum Police Department is searching for a man who escaped from the police station after questioning for having a sexual relationship with a minor.
Police said that they received information from Child Protective Services on Thursday about a child, who was younger than 16, who was involved in a sexual relationship with Ricardo Vasquez, 27. [[368614251, C]]
Krum police said that they brought Vasquez in for questioning and that the investigation revealed to police that a sexual relationship had occurred.
The suspect was detained while police tried to get a warrant for Indecency with a Child. Police said that while an officer turned away to get paperwork, Vasquez ran out of the police station and to a nearby neighborhood near Hattie Dyer Elementary School. Police tried to follow Vasquez but they lost sight of him.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office, Sanger Police Department, and the Texas DPS Air One helped Krum police search for Vasquez but they were unable to find him.
Krum police said that they do not believe that Vasquez is still in the area.
Police said there is a warrant out for his arrest for Indecency with a Child and Escape. If you see Vasquez please call 911.
