Kimberly Smith Extradited Back to Texas

Smith returned to Fort Worth Sunday evening

Kimberly Smith, the mother accused of kidnapping her daughter and taking her to New Mexico, is back in Texas.

Smith was extradited back to North Texas and arrived in Fort Worth Sunday evening.

Smith sparked a multi-state Amber Alert Feb. 7 after she disappeared with her daughter Jessica. Investigators said they feared the girl was in grave danger and accused Smith of trying to smother her daughter on the day the two disappeared.

The two were found in New Mexico, with Jessica unharmed, Feb. 12.

Kidnapping charges were filed against Smith last week.

If convicted, she could be sentenced to life in prison.
