Kidnapping Leads to Crash, Injuring FW Firefighter

Police say 57-year-old Roy Dorsey stole a pick-up truck in the 5800 block of Fletcher Avenue in Fort Worth, then drove to the home of Bobbie Thompson -- Dorsey's ex-girlfriend -- where he kidnapped the woman's 4-year-old grandson.

Officers say that after Dorsey crashed through a fence, he sped through west Fort Worth and collided with a blue SUV near Camp Bowie. The truck continued onward until he approached an intersection along Bryant Irvin just south of Interstate 20. There, Dorsey's truck collided with a black SUV driven by an off-duty Fort Worth firefighter, 25-year-old Mark Puente.

Paramedics rushed Puente to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Dorsey was arrested by police and taken to Harris Hospital with minor injuries. The 4-year-old boy was returned to his grandmother unharmed.
